Hello, everyone on WordPress! It’s me, after a hiatus of 6 months, back on WordPress.com! And how happy I am to be on it! What the subject of this post is going to be is: “The Magic Flute”, by Mozart.
The reason why I am doing this is because I was inspired by a Canadian Production of it at the Opera Company Of Philadelphia (which I attended, and on Opening Night as well!), and I got thinking that it would be a worthy subject to waste my time on, but I needed the time to do so. And today happened to be the day that I got time to do so.
When I think of all the things I would adapt if I were a producer, director, or executive of Children’s things (Books, TV Movies, etc), my mind doesn’t know where to stop, but “The Magic Flute” would be one. I, for one, am amazed that Rankin/Bass never adapted it into a TV movie/special. (Not that I’m too surprised), but still I believe that they should have done an adaptation of that. Ya know who I could’ve seen illustrating that? Trina Schart Hyman (before she died, of course). And why not? she did ilustrate fairy tales such as Snow White

, and I enjoyed her Herschel and The Hanukkah Goblins
when I was younger (and still do!)
